Billy Joe Churchwell.

I'm the first man on the left and walking point. This is a good photo of what our patrols looked like except Carol Marks took the photo. Carol should be half way behind me and the Marine in the photo that is behind me.

Most of the photos that make up this web sight where taken by me or Carol. It was my camera so you see a lot of me. If I took the photo you see the first fire team because I just turn around and click. I'm now glad that I had this camera. My camera and Hunt Holden's where the only cameras in our squad. I had several copies of our squad photo printed and I handed them out while I was there. I get emails from people saying that they have seen that photo before. That makes me feel good because that means theses guys kept it.

Shortly after getting home I visited Hunt Holden's parents, because they lived in Seattle and so did I. Hunt had gotten home before me but he wasn't around. I took my Vietnam photo album with me and showed his parents all my photos, the same photos that are in this web sight. I had a very nice time there. They're wonderful people, and they opened there home to me with no questions asked. It was so nice to know that there where people out there that respected me. I was really getting tired of the finger and this baby killing bull shit.

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Holden for being the kind of understanding people you are. Semper Fi.
