In this photo we have left Nam-O Hamlet and are going west. Our Tactical Area of Responsibility, "TAOR" or "AO" ends at the base of the mountains seen in the background on this photo. From there 3/1 picks up the responsibility. We will most likely be setting up a night ambush sight at the base of the valley seen behind me. Hopefully we will ambush unsuspecting VC that are trying to infiltrate our AO. We have had good luck here before.

Without our efforts the VC would gather recruits, rice, fish, money, and also get rest in the villages and hamlets. The VC would also execute any villagers that did not cooperate with there demands. While here they would also set up booby traps, and take sniper shots at us. Of course the VC want to kill and injuring us. Our job is to kill them first.

So there I stand. A skinny teenager, yes. But also a Marine. KILL, KILL, KILL,,,,VC!!! OOH RAH!
